I long to help others to uncover within themselves what makes them shine, to find their own distinctive voice, and to broadcast that voice with confidence and skill. On every path I have explored throughout my life, whether personal or professional, I have chosen to help others to radiate their own light into the world. As an educator, I strive to help yoga teachers, business leaders, and entrepreneurs dig deep within themselves to understand why they are pursuing their current journey, and continue to forge their path from that distinct place. As a brand storyteller, I seek to help leaders and entrepreneurs wordsmith nuanced identities, amplifying their messages to be heard above the din. As a yoga instructor, I seek to help others find their true strength, to create a subtle (sometimes radical) revolution within themselves, and to draw upon their own capacity for self-empowerment and self-compassion. I relish my sweet life in Victoria, BC, surrounded by the breathtaking confluence of the sea, the mountains, and the trees. Among my most precious blessings, I count my beloved warrior and catalyst to fire, my extended family near and far, my sweet, silly pups, my cadre of friends I don’t see nearly enough, and my yoga community. I savour every moment I can spend flowing my breath through movement whether on or off the mat: dancing, hiking, cycling, paddling, nourishing those I love, exploring incredible eateries, traveling to intriguing places (whether in the pages of a book or on my own two feet), engaging in both meaningful conversation and conscientious citizenry, designing and decorating beautiful spaces, and getting all dressed up for no reason at all.
Dawn's yoga journey began in 1999 when she bought a Rodney Yee VHS yoga videotape. She made a habit of practicing yoga every day to bring fitness and stress relief to the ups and downs of daily life. After gaining momentum and comfort in her practice, Dawn met her match at a local gym a few years later. Her poses were on public display-meaning for the first time: with hands-on adjustments, cues, and practicing openly in front of others. After conquering this obstacle, she was led to seek out a permanent yoga studio and a place she could use as a hideout to put her restless mind on the back burner for an hour or two.

Lisa Ackerman grew up in a house full of boys in Norwalk, CT and spent her youth between being a tomboy and girly-girl. She hated sports but loved horror movies. Afraid of spiders but loved snakes. Down with Barbie, My Little Pony, and G.I. Joe. She dabbled in dance, gymnastics and music lessons throughout elementary school and in high school dabbled in swimming and even track (hated running). However, nothing stuck. She was brought to her first yoga class at a local gym in her late teens by a friend. The only memory of that class was the savasana and the music-both of which stuck. From that point on, she had an on-again-off-again relationship with yoga until her late 20's when she decided to commit. Her yoga teaching is informed by years of practice and study in nearly every yoga style as well as her interest in anatomy, alignment, different movement modalities, self-inquiry, and exploration. Her ability to anticipate the needs of others, connect with a room, and hold space for all is what makes her style of teaching unique. Her classes are designed to get students to simply connect with themselves. Through breathing practices, movement, meditation and conscious effort, we are all able to master the mind.

I first found yoga after my son was born and I was looking for a gentle way to get back in shape. I found that and so much more! I was able to regain strength, flexibility, balance and health. I learned to accept and embrace how I look and feel with a newfound self awareness and self confidence. Throughout this journey of self discovery, I have also discovered what I am meant to do with the rest of my life; help others to feel better, live healthier and be happier in their own lives.
